opencontent

The Open Content Network is a project that seeks to separate the two traditional functions of peer-to-peer file sharing applications: downloading and searching. The OCN focuses exclusively on the downloading task, with no search capabilities at all.

What it does do is make those downloads fast. It downloads are drawn from multiple sources in an intelligent fashion that seeks to keep inbound bandwidth completely utilized whenever possible. Strong cryptographic hashing is used to ensure file integrity, and inaccurate sources are weeded out and their contributions discarded. A decentralized system is used to discover more, closer, and faster download sources actively during downloading.

Some of my contributions to the Open Content Network have been made as part of my work for Onion Networks.
