There are a couple things I like about the allequal_NN series of games:

  1. Everyone starts on equal footing

  2. NO_PRESS is surprisingly fun to play (and Internationally
     applicable)

One rule I would like to try would be fake orders and no order checking.
That would allow players to communicate through mis-ordered units,
proposing moves for future seasons.  It might get a bit messy, though,
reading the results email. ;-)
