Congratulations on a good game, everyone.

I'm planning on collecting some thoughts about the game and sending them out
later. I had a good time, especially since I missed out on the real live
version that occurred back in January or whenever, what with having moved
out to Seattle. I think this was probably only the 4th or 5th game of Dip
I've ever played, and this one turned out much better than all the previous
ones for me.

I'm not sure if it was intentional, but Zachary (Zach?) seemed to be asking
leading questions about the winter, shoveling snow, etc. which I didn't have
to deal with at all out here. I thought maybe he was trying to figure out
who I was, and if he had played with me before. So, of course, I lied
and/or dissembled, since I didn't want to give away who I was based on my
location and lack of snow. I'm not sure that it mattered, but it made me a
little nervous. :)

I had long suspected that Turkey was Ry4an...I'm not sure why, I just was,
probably from around 03 or 04. Possibly because it seemed that Turkey never
made incorrect moves, and made some especially sneaky attacks.

Some comments before I collect my thoughts on the individual turns (if no
one minds the vanity...):
* I ended up working closely with Germany from the beginning because he had
a plan and he was methodical about how he plotted it out.
* Given the chance, my plan was to let Germany become the board leader, then
rally the remaining countries against him, and coordinate a brutal stab.
* I chose to work against France early on because he didn't *seem* to have a
well-defined plan, and (IIRC) had a disturbing tendency to only communicate
once at the opening of each season and once on the last day. (My memory
could be flaky on that though...)
* I would have preferred to work with France early on, because he seemed
less belligerent than Germany, which I was afraid would bring too much
hostility too soon.
* Germany stabbed me in the midgame, and kind of poorly. :) However, there
was every reason to continue working with him as soon as possible after
that, as R/T looked very threatening in the late stages of the game. From
my perspective, I didn't so much reverse the stab tactically, as the
realities of the board made it unprofitable for Germany to continue
attacking me.
* I never really considered Russia as a potential ally, as it seemed like
our interests were going to conflict too much.
* I had hoped to work with Italy to keep Turkey in check, but apparently the
fruits of working with Germany against me were too tempting.
* E/A rarely have too much to do with each other, all the same, I was
disappointed to see Austria get crushed so early.
* In the end, I worked with Germany and Turkey because they were excellent
communicators, they would send multiple emails until we had everything
figured out. Many of the other powers only sent one or two emails, which
made it difficult to coordinate with them.
