The Saturday, January 13th sounds good to me.  Tom, if we tried to start
at 10am would that give you enough time to make it up from Austin?  I
can work on getting us some meeting space.  I've got access to a few
different facilities that should work out nicely.  

What do folks think is the right way to handle figuring out just who
will play?

On the one hand, if you say "Just show up if you want to play" you've
two problems: more than seven could show up and some folks will
have to go home  or  people don't show up because they don't feel
committed and aren't sure they'll get a spot if they do show up.

On the other hand, if you require pre-registration you're turning away
players who could fill a slot if one of the pre-registered players
cancels.

This wouldn't be such a problem if the game wasn't an order of magnitude
or two less fun with fewer than seven players.
