We had a nice game today and some first time players to boot. Thanks to
everyone who made it out, especially those who drive in from the
hinterlands.

The players were:

Austria: Tom Woodhouse
England: Ry4an Brase
France: Margret (Meg) Kanne
Germany: Mike Heeter / Jim Swift
Italy: Kirk Koudelka
Russia: Joe Skupniewitz
Turkey: James Kanne

Resulting in a 6 way draw for AEFGRT

Some folks expressed frustration at the lack of resolution our six hour
games produce. One solution which has been tried in the past is to
exclude six centers (taken from the smallest powers) from the 34 when
figuring out the DIAS win. We've played this, it does allow for an end
game, many liked it, and to my recollection no one objected strongly.
It's probably something we should look into trying again.

Another option is extending the length of our games from the current 6
hours. I initially started 6 hour games because I didn't figure anyone
would be willing to run any longer, but a few people have said that an
extra hour or two on one end or another or both wouldn't be a problem.

If we're going to go longer we'd be locked into Saturday games so long
as we wanted to stay at The Source, as Sunday hours are only noon 'till
6pm.

What about, and this is just off the top of my head, something like 10am
until 7pm on a Saturday? We could include an extra long Diplomacy
session to accommodate meals (indeed, talk of grilling was brought up)?

Would a game that long keep any of our current stalwarts away?
