I think Tom was thinking the registration process is more high tech
than it really is -- expecting that when he sends an email, it
automatically shows his registration on the web site.

The reality is more mundane, of course: Ry4an manually checks the
inbox periodically and manually updates the web page reflecting the
order in which the messages were received.
