Hello all. Another grand time was had by those in attendance.

Mike Carlson was a no-show (sanction that man!), but we were privileged to have
a Mr. Joe "Scoop" (forgot his last name) drop in.

We played a rather interesting 4-player variant. Instead of playing a
traditional power, we each selected centers on the board, where the first three
selected were identified as home centers. In order to unbalance the game, one
player started as a 4-center power, the next as a 5-center power, and the
remainder as 6- and 7- center powers. Sure enough, chaos ensued...

If memory serves, we were aligned as follows:
4: Ry4an, home centers: Paris, Kiel, Venice
5: Jim Swift, home centers: Spain, Marseilles, StP
6: Joe "Scoop," home centers: two in the Balkans, Edinburgh
7: Louis Duhon, home centers: Warsaw, Berlin, one other nearby

Well, Ry4an, Louis and I have clearly seen too much of each other in games past,
as we immediately fell to squabbling amongst ourselves. Meanwhile, the new guy
proceeded to shore up his base in the Balkans, as well as crank out fleet after
fleet from Edinburgh. Joe cleaned our collective clocks to claim the victory.
Congratulations, Joe!

All in all, another good time. Even if the weather didn't cooperate (i.e., the
nicest day outside for a long time).

Jim
