![]() Computing is probably my primary hobby. It's also my livelihood, and you'd think that would be a problem, but to my great amazement it isn't. With work and other commitments my recreations computing time is best measured in hours per month, and my project backlog looms large. Most of the time is spent at general fiddling/learning. I'd love to have the time to work on some substantial projects like I used to, but that won't be an option until after work calms down I guess. Lately with all the java I'm doing at work I've been putting most of my recreational computing energies into keeping my Perl skills sharp. I'm running a Mocha P4 that I picked up in July of 2002. It's amazingly tiny and portable. A similarly powered/equipped laptop would've cost twice what I paid for that little machine, and really when am I not somewhere that doesn't have a spare keyboard/monitor lying around? I run Linux on it, and have put together a page with some notes about running Linux on a Mocha. The subsections off this page cover a few of my favorite computer related topics. |
